There is another rat in the kitchen – what am I going to do?

Once Halloween and Bonfire night are out out the way we will be in the run up for Christmas. Last year we had a call from a distressed lady a few days before Christmas as a rat had chewed it’s way in to the back of her fridge and was eating the food for Christmas lunch! This is obviously not an ideal situation before the big day, so we set a number of traps and the problem went away. The cause here was food waste in the compost and excessive bird food falling off the bird table providing an attractant to the garden and house. The image attached shows where the rat had chewed through the back of the fridge and also left a calling card – not good for public health. Click on the image to see it in full size.
